Ticket prices for Krka Park through the Lozovac entrance

Depending on calendar dates and how you plan to get to Krka Park

All tickets include a visit to Skradinski Buk waterfall and all accessible ground sites in this area of the park

Important: the tour time to Skradinski Buk waterfall is 2 hours, not including the time needed to reach it

Regardless of the chosen date and convenient way for you to get to Krka Park through the Lozovac entrance:

  • Children under 7 years old – free
  • People with special needs (with disability over 50%) – free

Option 1: By bus

To get to Krka National Park by free bus from Lozovac, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Ticket purchase: In Lozovac town you need to find the ticket office to buy a ticket to the park. The bus ride is already included in the ticket price.

In the photo, the ticket office is on the left side, it has a large wooden sign that says “Krka”

2. Bus stop: In Lozovac, find the free bus stop, which is usually located near the free parking lot (Parking Vrata Krke) on the eastern outskirts of the village.

Finding the free bus stop to Krka Park in Lozovac is very easy, thanks to such a sign

3. Schedule: Free buses usually run at certain hours, especially during tourist season. It’s recommended to arrive in advance, as the queue for this bus can be very long (and during the season you can spend even an hour in it, if not more).

And in the photo the queue isn’t very big yet, at peak season there can be twice as many people

 4. Trip to the park: Get on the bus heading to Krka National Park. The trip takes approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic and route.

Tip: If you want to photograph something on the way, it’s better to stand closer to the driver, on other windows – there are sun protection nets (perhaps this isn’t a constant factor, and in other seasons something changes).

View from the windshield during the bus ride to Skradinski Buk waterfall

 5. Arrival: The bus stops on the park territory, almost at its main attraction – Skradinski Buk waterfall.

Regarding the comfort of buses, they’re usually equipped with comfortable seats, air conditioning and large windows, which allows you to enjoy the views during the trip (although those nets on the windows still interfere, but also protect from the sun). However, during peak seasons, buses can be crowded, which may reduce comfort.

Option 2: On foot from Lozovac (possible by bicycle and e-bike)

To get to Krka National Park from Lozovac on foot or by bicycle, you should consider several important points:

    1. Ticket purchase: a ticket with the option of visiting the park on foot in Lozovac is sold in the same place where tickets for visiting the park by free bus are sold.
    2. Distance: From the entrance in Lozovac to Skradinski Buk waterfall there’s a specially equipped pedestrian path. The distance you need to walk along this road is approximately one kilometer.
    3. For cyclists:
  • If you’re riding a bicycle, pay attention to the road conditions. Some sections may be uneven or with gravel.
  • You’ll most likely enter the park territory along the same road that the free buses take there.

              4. Safety: considering the previous point, always follow traffic rules, especially if you’re riding a bicycle.

              5. Travel time:

  • On foot you can get there in 15-20 minutes, depending on your speed.
  • By bicycle it will take approximately 10 minutes.

When it’s better to choose the bus:

  • Time: If you have limited time to visit the park, the bus can help you get to the main attraction faster – Skradinski Buk waterfall (the bus gets there in literally 5 minutes).
  • Weather: In case of bad weather (rain, heat), the bus may be a more comfortable option.
  • Return journey: after walking through the park you may already be exhausted, so in this case it’s better to use the free bus (departs from the same stop where it brings new tourists).

The choice between walking and the bus depends on your preferences, physical fitness and travel conditions. In addition, in this part of Krka Park (and closer to the Lozovac and Skradin entrances), a separate, very popular two-kilometer walking route has been laid out on its territory.

What you can see during a walk through Krka Park along the two-kilometer walking route around Skradinski Buk waterfall:

  • Waterfalls: the park’s most famous waterfalls, such as Skradinski Buk, can be seen from different points during the walk.
  • Nature trails: the park has numerous trails that pass through forest areas, along rivers and around waterfalls.
  • Flora and fauna: various species of plants and animals, including rare bird species.
  • Historical monuments: the old hydroelectric power station (Jaruga), ethnographic museum and Emperor Franz Joseph’s observation deck with an incredible view of the Krka River.

And don’t forget about the reward after such an ordeal: the opportunity to dive into the waters of the lake near Skradinski Buk waterfall.

Entrance in Skradin town

May be useful: article about Skradin and how to get to Krka Park through it

This is the second most accessible entrance to Krka National Park. If you come here by public transport (buses from different cities of Croatia), you’ll most likely be dropped off near this entrance.

Also, this is the only entrance from which you can reach Krka Park by water, on special excursion boats.

Boats from Skradin are another popular way to get to Krka Park.

  1. What are the boats from Skradin to Krka Park like? The boats that run between Skradin and Krka National Park are usually tourist vessels that can accommodate several dozen passengers. They offer comfortable conditions for travel, with the opportunity to enjoy the views during the voyage.
  2. How long does the boat trip to the park take? The boat trip to Krka Park takes approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on the specific route and weather conditions.
  3. What can you see along the way? During the journey you’ll be able to enjoy picturesque views of the Krka River, green forests, rocky shores and possibly wild animals. You can also see old mills and other architectural monuments located along the river.
  4. Where in Krka Park does the boat arrive? Boats from Skradin arrive at a pier located near Skradinski Buk waterfall (it’s called Ferry Pier Skradinski Buk and is located on the opposite side from the free bus stop from Lozovac). This is the most popular place in the entire Krka National Park, and the beginning of most tourist routes and tours through the park.

Tip: since the ticket price is the same regardless of departure time, tickets for earlier departures (before 12:00 PM) sell out fastest, an alternative way to get a ticket with a good departure time is to purchase an excursion with an included ticket, as tour companies most likely have special arrangements with the authority that oversees and sells tickets to the park.

Tours to Krka Park through Skradin

Option 2: On foot from Skradin (possible by bicycle and e-bike)

The distance from Skradin town to Krka National Park is approximately 5 km, depending on the route. On foot it can take about an hour, depending on your speed.

What to choose – on foot or by boat? If you want to enjoy nature and views, walking can be a wonderful option. However, if you want to save time or don’t have the opportunity to walk, a boat is a convenient and pleasant way to get to the park. Boats usually offer beautiful views of the river and surroundings.

But if you’re looking for an alternative to walking, I recommend an e-bike tour. This will allow you to move faster, visit more places and enjoy nature. Many companies offer e-bike rentals in Skradin, and also organize tours with a guide.

So, the choice between walking, a boat ride or an e-bike tour depends on your preferences, physical fitness and the time you want to spend. But either way, don’t forget about the prize at the end of the road: the opportunity to dive into the refreshing waters of the lake near Skradinski Buk waterfall.

Tickets through the Roški Slap/Laškovica, Burnum/Puljane, Kistanje/Krka entrances

Depending on calendar dates and how you plan to get to Krka Park:

It should be noted that entrances such as Roški Slap/Laškovica, Burnum/Puljane, Kistanje/Krka do not provide for visiting Skradinski Buk waterfall, the park’s main attraction! But even in this case, to enter Krka Park, you need to buy a ticket and there’s no other way.

Is it worth going through these entrances if you’re here for the first time?

I think not, because the first time everything is new and wild, and people need to see first the park’s main attraction Skradinski Buk to understand its popularity and all the hype associated with it, and on the next trip look for something non-mainstream here. This park is wonderful, and you’ll have something to see even on the third time, so don’t worry if on the first time you don’t have time for everything!

Also, in my opinion, you should enter the park through these entrances if you’re traveling by rental car, somewhere from the Knin side. In that case, the best solution, I think, would be to devote 2-3 days to the park.

Recommendation: don’t forget about food and water during the tour, because it will definitely be a very exciting and at the same time exhausting journey! It’s important to have enough water, because on hot days you’ll hardly want to feel thirsty while exploring this incredible nature.

Regardless of the chosen date and convenient way for you to get to Krka Park through the Roški Slap/Laškovica, Burnum/Puljane and Kistanje/Krka entrances:

  • Children under 7 years old – free
  • People with special needs (with disability over 50%) – free

Option 1 (the only one): on foot through the Roški Slap/Laškovica, Burnum/Puljane, Kistanje/Krka entrances

Which entrance to Krka National Park is the best?

Lozovac and Skradin are the most accessible and convenient entrances to the national park. Road connections to them are better than to others. Lozovac is the best option if you’re driving, as there’s sufficient parking here. Buses from Zadar, Split and Trogir also stop near both entrances.

Both Lozovac and Skradin are located near the park’s main attraction – Skradinski Buk waterfall. From these entrances you can also easily explore Roški Slap waterfall, Visovac Island and Krka Monastery, both on foot along walking trails and by boat, bus or car.

The Roški Slap entrance is also a good option. It can be reached by car, it’s the closest entrance to the beautiful Roški Slap waterfalls. From here you can also reach Krka Monastery, Visovac Island and Skradinski Buk by boat.

The Burnum and Krka Monastery entrances are located further away and can only be reached by car. They’re not as convenient as Lozovac or Skradin in terms of accessibility to the park’s main attractions.

Keep in mind that since Lozovac and Skradin offer quick and convenient access to the park, they’re usually more crowded than other entrances, especially during peak summer season. Also note: on January 1, only the Lozovac entrance is open to visitors.

Parking lots near Krka Park entrances

If you’ve decided to devote several days to Krka Park and visit it, for example, from different entrances, in different parts of the park, then I prepared this section for you. I think it will be useful to know exactly where you can leave your car and not wander looking for parking.

For those planning a trip to Croatia and visiting Krka Park and planning to rent a car for this – I recommend researching this issue in more detail and taking 15 minutes to read my article about car rental in Croatia, where I talked about all the nuances of car rental in this country.

In short – my recommendations regarding car rental

My main advice is to book a car in advance (preferably at least a month before the trip, and better two to three months). When planning our trips, we always use three leading online platforms for searching car rentals that work in Croatia with both international rental companies and local ones:

  1. Discovercars – my favorite aggregator where I most often rent a car during my trips (roughly speaking, 90% of my car rental cases fall on them).
  2. Besides Discovercars, I also recommend checking prices on Economybookings and Rentalcars (sometimes I found better deals for car rental there, especially if you need a car for quite a long time, for 2 weeks or more).

Overall, throughout all our trips, we managed to find the best prices thanks to only these three services + here you can and should book a car in advance, calmly reading the conditions, and after arriving in Croatia you won’t have to worry that the needed car won’t be available (you’re guaranteed to get a car of the booked class, and if there isn’t one, then a class higher, without additional payments – we had this happen more than once, and it’s great!).

Parking lots near Krka National Park that I know of:

  • Parking near the Lozovac entrance – quite large, there’s enough space even on the busiest park days and peak hours, operates year-round, and is free. Located near one of the two main entrances to the park. For tourists who came by car to see Skradinski Buk, Lozovac will be the most optimal option.
  • Laškovica parking – operates only in June, July, August and September. The building is new, repairs are in full swing. Here you can park for free, and a bus will take you to the waterfall ticket office.
  • Bogatići parking – operates only in June, July, August and September. The parking is new and almost empty, free. No comparison with the chaos at any other.
  • Puljane eco-campus – operates from eight in the morning to eight in the evening. Obviously, it’s off the beaten path, because it’s very quiet here.
  • Parking near the Burnum entrance – An interesting place worth visiting even when driving by. It’s visible right from the road, a monument that’s right on the street next to free parking.
  • Parking near the Manojlovac entrance – an option where everything is free. From this parking lot it’s better to go straight from the parking to the waterfall to see these amazing views.
